The signature-post has been moved to another blog.
This is the sky over Granborg Gaard on a winter's evening.

when you come from far away... ANREISE...

There are different ways of getting to Denmark, depending on your choice of travel.

AUS DEUTSCHLAND NIMMT MAN ENTWEDER DIE FÄHRE VON ROSTOCK ODER VON PUTTGARDEN AUS.
(WER NICHT MIT DEM SCHIFF FAHREN WILL, KANN NATÜRLICH AUCH ÜBER JÜTLAND ANREISEN...)

These pictures show the ferry from the south Puttgarden-Rødby Havn.
There is another ferry leaving from Rostock (Germany) to Gedser (DK).
Both towns are within easy reach from Granborg Gaard - if you're either going by car, bus or train.

MIT BUS, ZUG UND AUTO KANN MAN UNS SO SEHR LEICHT ERREICHEN.
½-1 STD. UND DANN IST MAN SCHON BEI UNS VOR DER TÜR!

UND DANN KANN MAN ABER AUCH FLIEGEN. KASTRUP IST DER KOPENHAGENER FLUGPLATZ UND VON DORT AUS NIMMT MAN DANN DEN ZUG. VOM LOKALEN BAHNHOF AUS KANN MAN SOGAR ZU UNS LAUFEN.

However, if you're coming from the north it will be Helsingborg (Sweden) to Helsingør (DK), or you will just fly to Kastrup - Copenhagen Int. Airport.

But if you're coming from the west... well...
... your first view of the Danish kingdom might be a little bit misleading...

I found this on
most interesting blog:

Arctic Views

The Ice-Crown of Denmark

The world’s largest Island is 52 times bigger than the Danish motherland (autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark) , and lies half way between Europe and North America. The view from the airplane to the majestic landscape is fascinating.

The last time I flew the route – ok, it wasn’t me, it was KLM’s pilot – the weather-god regaled us with brilliant weather to show us the beauty of ice and snow.

Of course, what you see here is just a small part of the arctic landscape. There’s much more to Greenland and looking at that stunning landscape with mountains as high as 3700 m, I dream of visiting one day places like Nuuk, the capital – founded by the missionary apostle Hans Egede; Anmagssalik with it's colourful wooden houses - also the name of the small species of Greenland salmon, or Thule, the probably coldest place on Earth with temperatures falling to minus 60 degree C. Once a week they fly in from Copenhagen and in summer even from Island.

It is almost unimaginable that people and animals survive in that desert-like icy landscape. But there are Geysers in the south around Sydproven; Fjords full of flowers in the summer - even a canyon called flower-valley with more than 50 known species that rise every spring anew. The contrasts couldn’t be bigger.

Of course, Greenland’s biggest resource is ice. But as we know it, that can change pretty fast…

Getting closer to Buffin Island...

Welcome back in Vancouver.

JENE, DIE JEDOCH VON WEITHER KOMMEN, SEHEN ZUERST GRÖNLAND UND DANN DEN REST DES DÄNISCHEN KÖNIGREICHS!
And because people know that nobody has to die of starvation in our B&B, Jenny has been so nice to award me this special kind of... well... award - can't really think of a more fitting name...

EINEN AWARD VON JENNY:

Thanks, Jenny and if you ever come to DK to stay here, the breakfast shall be on us!

But guess what, who is getting the award this time?
Thought I would give it to Phos, for all his half-raw meats, plus a pin-up for his husky.
And Phos remember, look at the ice-cold pics above; that's where your little doggy really wants to be!!! Not drowning in its own sweat... poor little thing!
By the way - if you think the reindeer in the background look delicious; yes they are!
But they do smell a whole lot worse than they taste...

Sunset ¤¤¤ SONNENUNTERGANG

Sunset over Granborg Gaard

SONNENUNTERGANG ÜBER GRANBORG GAARD

These pictures are all taken in our back garden.

IM HINTEREN GARTEN

These are from the front garden,

IM VORDEREN GARTEN,

between the main house and the street.

ZWISCHEN HAUPTHAUS UND STRASSE.

And this one shows the yard.

IM HOF.

You might wonder why I take all these pics...

ÜBER DEN ZAUN ZU DEN NACHBARN BLICKEN...

Well to tell you the truth, not just to give people an idea what our B&B-House is like,

DIE SCHEUNEN VOM HINTEREN GARTEN AUS GESEHEN.

but also because we've lost so many pictures in the past when PCs broke down and this is an easy way to store personal memories. And to tell you the truth, that is quite a large part of the reasons I have for keeping so many blogs...
