That was a really weird trip!

First of all: look at all the action on the water.

I have never seen the strait this busy before!

And then: check out the weather!!!

UND DAS WETTER WAR GANZ BESTIMMT AUCH NICHT LANGWEILIG!

I mean: totally dramatic and strange! You think you're up north, on the arctic ocean! LOL!

MAN KANN KAUM GLAUBEN, DASS ES SOMMER IST!

It was actually the afternoon of a warm summer's day - not far from our farm in Denmark!

DOCH ES WAR WARM UND ES FIEHLEN NUR EIN PAAR TROPFEN...

You wouldn't have guessed that, would you?!

However, not too much rain fell on our heads and we had the deck all to ourselves!

And it was really interesting to see all the activity in connection with the new bridge - in spite of the building work not having started at all. I think they're not even at the drawing board... lol!

Anyways. a boat trip is always an experience, you never know what you see or what happens - even if you've done it a million times before!

It is very old-fashioned. And as you can see the original murals have been preserved.

Also it's decorated with lots of antique paintings and artifacts...

even most of the china is antique...

this is a fireplace which we got from the States. It can be used for in-door-barbecues as well!

This piano is mainly used as a sideboard, the other, working piano, is in the gallery...

Even though it's very cozy, the dining room offers space for many guests.

has once again been totally amazing!

They say it's not the biggest

ABER MIT SICHERHEIT DIE BESTE IN DÄNEMARK!

(still it isn't exactly small...!)

NUN, SIE IST NICHT GERADE KLEIN... ABER DIE BESTE IST SIE AUF JEDEN FALL!

but it's definitely the best week of celebration and concerts in Denmark - and they're right!!!

IRGENDWIE SCHAFFEN ES DIE ARRANGEURE IMMER WIEDER ETWAS FÜR JEDEN GESCHMACK ZU FINDEN UND ALLE KONZERTE SIND GRATIS UND JEDER HAT EINFACH VIEL SPASS - EGAL WELCHEN ALTERS!

Oh and the best thing... all these concerts are for free!

Sailing homeward ### NACH HAUSE SEGELN!

The trip between German and Denmark is always very beautiful and takes about 45 minutes only.

The sun is about to go down...

And since I'm just about to go out and work on the farm again, I thought, I'd just quickly leave you with a couple of words the local mayor wrote into our guestbook, when we moved from Funen to where we are now. He really wasn't very happy to see us leave and close down the gallery there and one day he came and said: "Now I've finally accepted that you are actually leaving..." Anyways he was (is) a really sweet guy and this is what he had written into the guest book:

"Dear Sarah Sofia and family!

Thanks for really cozy and nice talk during my visit here!

Thank you as well for your initiative of starting the gallery with all these great exhibitions.

It has been a great and positive contribution for the cultural life here on North-Funen.

I am very sad, that you have to leave us now, but I hope, you you will do well where you're moving to and I wish you all the best for the future.

Well, I guess we will just have to honor his wishes and see to that "Gallery Granborg Gaard" will become even nicer and an even bigger success than the gallery we had to close on Funen!

they started renovating the village and the harbor! Now both the harbor and the center of this small town present themselves in a most charming and exclusive manner!
